Intensive Overview
Format: Online intensive (unless you're in Perth - then join us in person!)
Training Focus: Matwork and Reformer form the essential starting point, with full studio equipment training following later in the year. Why Mat and Reformer First? These two apparatus lay the essential foundations for all movement skills and practices. When you understand how to work with these core pieces, everything else in the classical system becomes clearer and more accessible.
Important Note #1: No classical reformer needed; original exercises work on modern reformers, and you’ll learn why some contemporary cues don’t apply to classical principles.
Important Note #2: If you are away on a specific date, you will receive a recording of that day’s lecture. We don’t want you to miss out on the whole course because you’re not able to attend one day

Assessment Philosophy
When we assess you, we want to ensure you've successfully integrated classical principles into your existing teaching practice and can confidently apply these foundations with your clients. We don't believe that a written exam or a specific test is an accurate measure of your growth as a teacher. We also don't expect you to demonstrate perfect classical form in your own practice - we're all continuously evolving. The more we learn, the more we refine our teaching and deepen our understanding.
As experienced teachers, you already bring valuable skills and perspectives. Our assessment process honours your existing expertise while ensuring you can confidently implement classical principles. We want you to develop your own classical teaching voice - one that integrates authentically with who you already are as a teacher. Once your assessments have been finalised, you will receive a certificate of attainment for Classical Matwork & Reformer Pilates Teacher Training
Your assessment has four parts:
Teaching Integration Project: document your integration of classical principles with one existing class throughout the intensive. Track the concepts you implement, client responses, challenges, breakthroughs, and how your teaching evolves.
Class Review: schedule your own practice classes for practice, peer-review, and self-review.
Film Your Classes: film a Matwork and a Reformer class for your final assessment, using real clients. Peer-reviewed by the class, your mentor, and finally yourself.
Case Studies: write a program and assessment for three different types of injuries and conditions covered in your studies.
